Hard to believe summer has come and gone- this summer felt particularly short with the weather in June so rainy, but we had some great times, especially fun trips in July/August. Jacob is off to 5th Grade, he has a great teacher, Mrs. Robinson, and is already loving school this year. Jake is a smart kid- clever thinker- great at math. 5th Graders get to go to The Children's Museum this year and "work" a full day as if they had a job and he is so dang excited for that- I get to go on that field trip in October.

My boys are growing up so fast and are big helpers to me. I was torn on them starting school- Truly, I will miss seeing them in the day. I love their laughs and smiles and energy. However, I am excited for them to see some of their friends they have missed- by the end of the summer, I think they were ready for the structure- of course, they were excited for the bus and lunch...
Jonah is in 3rd Grade and has two teachers who are both fabulous. I'm excited to volunteer once a week and see him in class. Jonah tends to be very shy in class, but eventually comes out of his shell. He has many friends and is one fabulous reader!

The next week, Ashley was off to Kindergarten. She was really nervous to start the "big school" so we read a Kindergarten prep book every night for the last week. When we went to meet her teacher, Ashley was feeling a bit better but still, when the big day came, I was just as nervous. At first, she wanted me to follow her on the bus, since she wanted to "try" it. But when the bus came and she saw all her friends, she jumped right on. I had to ask her to come back and give me a hug. She has grown up so much and it made me sad, but also happy that she was happy. She's my tender heart and I am excited to help out with her class to see her in her element.
Alex just wanted to do what his siblings were- he wanted to get on the bus too. Luckily, I am on the PTA Board this year, at school often helping out and so he gets to go with me and see his brothers and sister. It's more work than I had anticipated, but a good cause...

They are all growing up too fast- I think we all can say time flies too quickly and it's almost sad. I am enjoying these precious moments I have with my kiddos as I know how lucky I am to be their mama...Here's to another year!
