(EDEN 2/11)Last night, I was asking Chad what he wanted to do for his birthday and he replied, "Is my b-day tomorrow?" That's when you know a) denial that you are another year older b) b-days are overrated (at least at our house) c) you are stressed out! d) all of the above. And for Chad, I think it is "D"- I need to do some serious party planning to spice things up a bit....Also, in my mind, age is only as old as you feel and in that case, Let's GEt OUt and PARTY bECauSE we really aren't THAT OLD!
So, a few days ago, Chad was able to go up to Eden a day early and ski with Jigga- eat dinner with all his brother-in-laws and have some "guy" time. Probably not enough time, but at least some time away from stress at work, etc.
Then, Friday after school, I took the four kiddos up to meet the Roger's in Eden. We went to eat, played with cousins and had some late night chats with the family. Pretty fun until Alex (who had been teething and ornery that week) kept everyone up all night crying...the kid just didn't feel well.
So, Saturday morning, I drove him home, took him to the doctor and he did have a fever. But they told me it was just a virus- yada yada. I took him home, not a fun few nights. Sunday night, with not much sleep and lots of crying, I kept thinking somehting else was wrong. Monday morning he woke up with fluid draining from his ears- hence, EAR INFECTION. Poor kid. He still doesn't feel well with teeth coming in and is stuck to my hip. Chad and the kiddos had a fun time and came home Monday afternoon, which I was so happy to see them because to be honest, I was looking forward to spending quality time with them over the weekend. But as we all know, Life doesn't always go as planned, right?
Thankful that the Roger's fam and my hubs and three older kids had fun together, creating those memories. Sad I missed them, but glad Alex is feeling better.
Chad is such an amazing father, husband and friend. Everyone loves him. Happy Birthday, Chad. I love you so much and lucky to have you as my life-long partner.
HAPPY B-DAY TO: NATALI!!! Tomorrrow is Nat's b-day and she is the greatest mom and friend ever. I hope you get to celebrate and do something fun, Nat!

Happy Bday Chad. So sorry Kel...poor baby needs to freaking catch a break. I had no idea. Glad the kiddos were able to go and have a good time in Eden...I miss you and can't wait for Monday!
