A FABULOUS way to "end summer"

So we wanted to "end summer" doing something fun and memorable. Who doesn't? But for some reason, this summer has passed too quickly and I felt we needed to make this weekend memorable. Thanks to my hubby, we took the kids up to Midway. Saturday, we attempted Swiss Days (my wish) but I had NO IDEA what actually getting there entailed. Long story short, the kids didn't last long (15 minutes) and we headed to ZERMATT for an over night stay... Only a short drive from this and still feel miles away. BEAUTIFUL...
After Swiss Days, we headed straight for the pool. Dad and Alex stayed back for a nap.

The boys thought this pool was the coolest ever- with a tunnel to connect in and outside...but they would not let me take any pictures of them. JAke is especially non-compliant about the whole picture thing. Makes me sad.

They finally let me take this picture of them- the Orange fish in this pond were incredible.

Yum- the boys stopped for a bite of Swiss Chocolate (Jake's favortie treat in the world)

And we headed over to the carousel (spelling?) Alex LOVED it so much he threw a fit when it was over- seriously, what kid throws fits this young? He isn't afraid of much.

I snuck this picture in. Jo and Jake are such great helpers. Loved hanging out with them this weekend and sad they are gone all day at school (Jake is in FOURTH and Jonah is in SECOND) Makes it easier that they love going to school. Well, mainly to eat lunch, ride the bus and see their friends. Truly, this year, I miss them around all day.

We headed towards the already over-fed goats. We fed them some dog bones the hotel sold us for a butt load of money

Chad has memories of this OH SO Mouth-watering shakes (Granny's Drive In) in Midway that as you can see, hit the spot.
Went swimming again- this time Prince was awake:)

Stayed up and watched TV and eventually hit the sack. NExt morning- off to The Homestead for buffett breakfast. Yep, dad went all out for us this weekend.
Admiring that golf course behind them? Chad stayed and golfed Labor Day for it was too gorgeous to pass up.

The food and scenery- Uh HUH.

We took the kids to the Homestead Crater, swam again and headed for home. Ang and Dan were so kind to take the kids while just the hubs and I went back up for a night alone. Don't go fallin' in love with the mini, Ang.
In a few hours we partied it up. Headed to Park City, Alpine Slide and a delicous dinner at the River Horse (a four star restaurant) where we looked to poor for them to seat us- we were so underdressed...but the food was incredible. so was my date:)

Got some outlet shopping in- went hot tubbin' and had a fantastic night. Next day, we worked out and off I went to rescue Ang while the hubs stayed to play some golf. Wow - we did it all. What a way to "end the summer" and happy we did it in style. Sad summer is coming to an end but excited for Fall. Updates on the kid's new school year to come:)

Bree- I KNOW- those shoes were crazy...we went on the slide on a whim and I so paid for it. Luckily I had just bought some Nike's and slipped those on for main Street. xoxo

That looks so fun Kell-what a way fun way to end the summer. I bet Anj ran out and got herself a minivan the very next weekend.

I am with Kell though-I WOULD wear shoes like that on the Alpine slide but I WOULD NOT wear them walking the strip in Vegas! :) (or carry them...whatever!)
