Merry Christmas! '08

Merry Christmas Everyone! Here are some highlights of our family's Christmas this year:

The Roger's side grandkids: 7 boys and 1 girl dressed for the infamous "manger scene" Our Three cuties ready to make their acting debut. We love spending time at the Roger's home where the action is! Unfortunately, I had Strep Throat a few days before Christmas and couldn't be at the Roger's party. I seriously cried for I love, LOVE eating the great food Marsha cooks, catching up with the family, and watching this very scene. Meg, I love my Celine Dion shirt!

Christmas Eve was very memorable for us. The Jones side has a big party every year as well. Angie is due with a baby girl on Dec. 28th!

New baby Lucy almost here! My nephew, A.J., came home from his mission just a few days ago from Spain. My mom had all the fellow missionaries share their testimonies in the language they taught. Very neat.
The cousins had a blast as always. My kids love getting together with all their cousins. Below, my hubby is sharing his testimony in Chinese, which was great to hear. My kids were in awe. And my dad, he looks like he is sleeping, so I nudged him....

In other news: Chad and I shared that we are EXPECTING our 4rth baby due this August.

THe kids love making cookies for Santa and of course, he eats them all and shares a special note to the kids. He almost didn't bring what the boys really wanted: A Nintendo DS until the boys found a special note. Jonah about had a nervous breakdown.

Can you tell they are happy now?

Ashley got some great, girly gifts. She is easy to please at this age, thank goodness.

Chad and I are greatful to have our family and friends to share such great memories with! Merry Christmas to all!

Holiday Fun

Everyone happy to see Santa!
Santa told Jake to keep up his great school work.

Most of the grandkids (Missing Oliver, Marcus and Austin) and 3 additional friends

Jonah was so excited and nervous. Santa told him to keep reading!

Thanks to Marsha and Alan for making this a special tradition to remember

And, a finale. The boyz went sledding later that evening with their new sleds and snow gear.
THe past few years, The Roger's side of the family and family friend gather for a special lunch where a special guest appears: The big man a.k.a Jolly Old St. Nick. You can imagine with 7 grandboys and 1 grandgirl how exciting this may be!
Santa always tells the kids the things they are doing well and a few things they need to improve on. This year, Jake was told to be better about flushing the toilet, which I was so happy about.
We missed Aunt Megan, who adds the pizzaz to the party, but was away picking up the other half. Abby just had her 3rd baby boy, and still brought the older two. They did so well sitting on his lap.
Later that evening, Chad went and bought the kids all new sledding gear. although it was way past bed time, he still took the boys down the great hill right by our house. So fun!
What a day! We had so much fun and now, I am even more in the holiday spirit. Love this time!

I want it; I gotta do it!

I love Christmas lights. I love Christmas time. But I have to toot my own horn here because I have now upgraded to attaching the Christmas lights to clips from duck tape; yes i have come a long way. And i have to say, they look pretty good this year! Chad offered to get the lights on the roof done, but every time he'd get half way on the ladder, it would shake like crazy and so I offered to do them since I have more experience. Love them!

Jr. Jazz for Jonah

Chad and I are so excited that Jonah decided to be on Coach Dave and Sam's Jr. Jazz team. Thanks for letting him join late. Jonah loves it!
Jonah especially loves to dribble. That kid just dribbles and dribbles. Our first game was this morning and I laughed so hard becuase the kids are so dang cute. They of course, don't call traveling, so they just run around with the ball and chuck it. I am suprised that many of those shots go right in. I love that they are not competitive; that comes too quickly.
We are excited to see so many of our friends every Saturday bright and early:) Go Jonah, Miles, Jackson, Chance and the rest of the team!

The Princess

Ashley getting her "pretty's" painted with mom
Nana Marsha and Ashley's special "Beauty and the Beast" date

So cute!
I just had to post about my princess. First of all, it is amazing how they just know what they want so young! Ash hasn't seen many Disney movies that I loved, like Beauty and the Beast, but she knows who the characters are and what Belle looks like.
Nana Marsha took Ashley on a special girl's night to the Skyline play, Beauty and the Beast. What a good nana. Ash was so excited and had to put on her special Beauty dress.
Then, I had to get my nails done before i ripped them off, which I know sounds funny, but Chad loves my nails done so i can tickle his back. I seriously hate spending money on fake nails, I hate taking an hour to get them done, HIGH MAINTENANCE! But the funny thing was, Ashley wanted to come and get hers done too. So, i had the ladies give her a manicure and she loved every minute. She even sat still for them to dry. The nail ladies were amazed.
What am I teaching my daughter? That we can be high maintenance together I guess. We had fun any way. Now, tonight, Jonah's turn to have "boy" time with his first basketball practice! Next, Jake will try some hip hop dancing. Gotta love those boys:)
